About KVK
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra is a leading, district level Farm Science and information Center, established in 2018 with financial assistance of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi at Siyakhedi, District Udaipur for speedy transfer of technology to the farmers fields. The operational area of this Krishi Vigyan Kendra comes under agro climatic Zone IV A in the south part of Rajasthan. The aim of Krishi Vigyan Kendra is to reduce the time lag between Generation of technology at the research institutions and it's transfer to the farmer's field for increasing production, productivity and income from the agriculture and allied sectors on a sustainable basis.
THRUST AREA
- To increase the productivity of cereals, pulses and oilseeds through the adoption of improved production technology and seed multiplication.
- Popularization and establishment of fruit orchards and vegetable cultivation.
- Use of improved farm implements to reduce the cost of crop production and Popularization of non-conventional energy sources.
- Enhancement of livestock productivity through up-gradation of local non-descript germ-plasm, balanced and cheaper nutrition and management practices.
- Empowerment of rural women by introducing agriculture and allied activities.
- Improving soil fertility through composting and balanced fertilizer application on soil test based recommendations.
